SSDs, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth adapters, capture cards, hubs and cables — the parts that get a computer working again.

Diagnostics
Pick what's wrong. Here's what fixes it — and what it costs.
Diagnosis
Most desktops — and some older laptops — have no wireless card. A USB Wi-Fi adapter adds one: plug it in, install the driver once, and the PC joins your network. 2.4 GHz reaches further through walls; a dual-band adapter is faster close to the router.

If there's no Bluetooth switch in your PC's settings, it has no Bluetooth radio. A USB dongle adds one — for earbuds, speakers, controllers and keyboards. Need Wi-Fi as well? The 2-in-1 adapter does both from one port.

Usually it's an old hard drive. An SSD makes start-up and every app load several times faster. A 2.5″ SATA SSD fits where the hard drive sits; an M.2 NVMe SSD needs an M.2 slot — check your model, or call us. Keep the old drive as a USB backup in an enclosure.

Diagnosis
A capture card sits between your console or camera and your computer: HDMI in, USB out, and OBS or VLC records or streams it. No separate power and, on most systems, no driver to install.

A hub turns one port into four. Pick USB 3.0 for pen drives and hard disks. On a thin USB-C laptop, a USB-C hub adds HDMI and a LAN port as well.

One HDMI cable carries picture and sound — choose the length you need. For a projector across a hall, an HDMI extender runs the signal over a network cable, up to 60 m.

Thin laptops drop the Ethernet socket. A USB-C gigabit adapter brings it back — a steadier connection than Wi-Fi for calls, games and big downloads.

Move the photos off it: a memory card for an Android phone with a card slot, an OTG adapter to plug a pen drive into an iPhone, or a pen drive for the laptop.

Times are the folder size divided by each drive's best-case sequential read speed — the SSD figures are EVM's own, the hard-drive figure is typical for a laptop drive. Copying many small files is slower on every drive.
The Glitch Lab
A computer that won't connect, won't start or won't keep up is rarely broken for good. Usually one small part is missing. We keep those parts — and we'll tell you which one you need.
